Go to Greener Impact – Million Lights Project and register for a free CFL. Sure it is full of mercury dust but it saves electricity.

Just don’t toss it in the waste bin. Ikea is one of the few places that will take CFL’s for recycling. I drive by one to and from work.
Yeah we just dropped off two dead CFL’s at Ikea the other day, the first time we ever went to Ikea. Great tip!
