Nothing more frustrating then something failing days after the warranty expires. My LaCrosse battery charger did just that and I may never buy LaCrosse again.

I haven't done anything interesting w/ RAW but theoretically I can. In Lightroom I see all these settings that appear when you use RAW like white balance controls specific to types of lighting.

Happy belated Birthday! Nothing like a good HD upgrade project to bring some excitement into your day. I've had more than my share of these. I have boycotted Western Digital since a 200 GB drive (one the first on the market) failed a few days after the warranty expired. They only offered to sell me a new one with a pittance of a discount. Granted this decision was mostly emotional, but I tend to stick with Seagate and Hitachi. I haven't been disappointed since. I have a D40x, but haven't used the RAW format much - I assume you have more control over editting? I'm curious, what kind of things have you done?
