Mighty to Save

seonghuhn | June 17, 2008 9:23 AM

Sometimes Isaac doesn’t like me singing. Maybe cause I sing so out of tune. :-)

I don’t remember exactly what happened but Isaac said something about the song “Mighty to Save.” I think maybe Isaac was saying it is a children’s song. Dylan corrected him and said “It is a God song.”

I asked Dylan how he knew that and he said he heard me sing it. He then started to sing it. It was cute. :-)

Here is a video of “Mighty to Save” illustrated with children’s pictures, very cute.

One Way

seonghuhn | June 16, 2008 3:13 PM

Yesterday during service we sang the song “One Way” by Hillsong United. I YouTubed for this song and found this video.

What was fun was finding this video of “One Way” being performed in Japanese at a Hillsong United concert.

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb.
Rev 7:9

It’s always awesome seeing God praised in other languages. However it is especially exciting when it is in Japanese considering how ambivalent Japanese have been about Christianity. Too bad the concert itself was not in Japan.

This YouTube video is of Wintley Phipps explaining the history of the awesome “white spiritual” Amazing Grace. Check it out, it’s worth the 8 minutes.

Recently I wrote a tongue in cheek post, My First Conversation with Ji Seon in Heaven, about what it would be like in heaven.

MercyMe has a song wondering about what heaven will be like called “I Can Only Imagine”. There’s a great article about the origins of this song at Christianity Today entitled Story Behind The Song: MercyMe’s “I Can Only Imagine”.

I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk by your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When your face is before me
I can only imagine

Surrounded by your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

I can only imagine when that day comes
And I find myself standing in the Son
I can only imagine when all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

Chorus

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you

Casting Crowns Performs in North Korea

seonghuhn | January 24, 2008 10:03 AM

Casting Crowns, a Christian worship band, was the only U.S. band invited to play in North Korea’s 25th Annual Friendship Art Festival. The thought of a U.S. band, let alone a Christian worship band, blows my mind away.

On top of this some of my friends who were in North Korea at the time watched them play and said they played Christian songs.

North Korea is one of the darkest and most oppressive nations in the world. We pray for revival in North Korea. May this performance be a precursor to that revival.

Here is a YouTube video of If We Are The Body.
