Today Ji Seon said “You’re a good dad.”

I then replied “Why are you saying that? Is it because you were thinking I’m a bad dad and then you thought I’m not such a bad dad.”

Ji Seon then started laughing.

I then said “I know that laugh. It’s the “you’re right” laugh.”

Well at least I’m not such a bad dad.

Ji Seon ordered the cutest crocs for Dylan and Isaac, these yellow Disney kids cayman crocs. She ordered them on crocs.com and got free shipping using the promo code “yoga08″.

Ji Seon also ordered for me a pair of blue cayman crocs.

We love crocs. They are so easy to slip on and we wear them all the time. The boys especially like how easy it is to get the sand out of them after playing in the sandbox.

This was a conversation that Ji Seon and I had before Victoria was born, maybe even before she was conceived.

Ji Seon asked me if I could become pregnant would I be willing to do it.  At first the thought horrified me then I reluctantly said “Well I guess so since you had to carry the first two kids.”  But then Ji Seon said I probably couldn’t deal with the pain.  She’s right.

Once a month the fathers in our cell group get together, leaving our wives to take care of the kids. On a different night once a month the mothers go out while the husbands take care of the kids.

This past Friday night as I was leaving for our monthly mens night out, Ji Seon said to me “I’ll miss you.”

I replied, “Why? Because you have to take care of the kids by yourself?”

She said, “No. Because you’ve been funny today.”

Ji Seon and I started talking about what our first conversation in heaven would be like. This is what we came up with.

In heaven, Ji Seon ambles up to me all content after moving through the throngs of worshippers.

[Ji Seon, bemused] There you are. Do you know we’re not married anymore? Huh!

[Frank, disappointed] I am not that happy about that.

[Ji Seon] You can’t be unhappy in heaven!

[Frank] Well, I’m not happy about it. Whom am I going to hang out with?

[Ji Seon] You can hang out with one of those friends from earth.

[Frank] I don’t want to hang out with them.

[Ji Seon] You can hang out with Jesus.

[Frank] I don’t want to hang out with Jesus. There are always so many people hanging around him, I can’t get in a word edgewise.

[Ji Seon] This is heaven. You can always get in a word edgewise, he can hear you.

[Frank] No I was told I have to be patient.

[Ji Seon] Well you are patient now, this is heaven.

[Frank] No I was told to go the patience workshop.
